Features

  1. In order to increase the practical capability of students, students of DTLHM will take compulsory courses (9 credits, 720 hours) in the first semester of senior year, arrange internships in domestic tourism, leisure and hospitality industries, or apply for overseas internships (such as Japan, Thailand).
  2. The department has signed and partnered with The Lalu Hotel Group to create a Management Trainee Program. Junio-year students will be allowed to apply for the program and upon completion, employment at graduation is also guaranteed.
  3. Many professional seminars and panel discussions with industry leaders and experts will be held throughout the year to enhance our students ‘industry and career knowledge base.
  4. Various classes to enhance our students ‘language abilities‘ are offered to aid our students to become even more skilled and internationalized. Our goal is to help students develop both the understanding of theory and practical work experience so that they could become the best in the field.

“Management Concept & Skills” is the primary focus of our curriculum. In order for our students to have a firm grasp of leadership and management related ideology, over 40 credits of the curriculum will be centered on management-related coursework. Another competitive advantage here is we offer both masters and doctorate classes. Classes are divided into two sub group as described in the following. Understanding that the tourism and leisure industry values practical hands-on work experience, the group’s focus is on helping students obtain these work skills. Students can select Tourism, Leisure or Events as either their primary or secondary Concentration. “Management Concept & Skills” is the primary focus of our curriculum. The Hospitality group’s focus is also on practical work experience and skills. Students can select Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management as either their primary or secondary concentration. The core competency of the program is tourism, leisure and hospitality management professional education, with an emphasis on theoretical and practical application. Therefore, research methods and practical application are both emphasized in required course curriculum. When designing elective courses, we focus on the current relevant trends of the industry and provide “Tourism and Leisure Management ”, “Hospitality Management”, and “Innovation and Start Up Business Management”.
